Through our actions as well as our words we will show the love of Jesus to people across the region.
There is a church at the heart of every community and Festival Manchester is an opportunity to not only celebrate this, but show the church is good news to the neighbourhood. We see working for justice as a gospel imperative.
Achieving this will be done through two main initiatives; campaigns and projects. Campaigns will see us working with key partners to deliver big plans where through Festival Manchester churches, families and individuals can meet major societal needs. Projects will be local initiatives conceived and delivered by local churches that will bless their neighbours.
We’re dreaming of seeing over 200 projects take place across the region, run by the local church who are stepping out into their communities in mission.
This could involve litter picks, garden makeovers, graffiti removal, neighbourhood BBQs, kids’ clubs, sports camps etc. It’s up to you and your chance to dream big! Any project where the church looks for opportunities to serve the community in word and deed could be an expression of Love Where U Live.

There will be four main campaigns running as part of Love Where U Live.
Fostering & Adoption
Working with Home For Good we will find 500 new families to welcome vulnerable children into their homes through fostering or adoption. This will not only bring hundreds of children and young people into Christian families, but it will also save the local authority millions of pounds!
The Message Trust works in partnership with local churches to set up and run incredible community groceries that, partnering with a local church, provide affordable food shopping for those finding the cost of the weekly shop difficult.
But it’s not just about food. Members also have access to free courses and support in areas such as debt management, healthy cooking, exploring Christianity, parenting and much more. There are plans to open more across the North West which will become hubs for Love Where U Live missions.
Festival Manchester hopes to impact as many areas of the community with the good news of Jesus as possible. Working with Barnabus, Embassy and other Christian organisations we want to share Jesus in word and deed with those who are experiencing homelessness or are vulnerably housed. There are three things that we are focusing on:
• Encouraging more Christians to regularly volunteer to serve in Christian ministries working with the homeless
• Training churches to support people who have been placed in accommodation after being on the streets
• Providing an amazing banquet during the festival week for those who are currently homeless
Many of our Love Where U Live projects will directly benefit the environment. To make sure we maximise this we have developed a key partnership with Dan Hasler and his #OrchardsEverywhere initiative. We have purchased 5,000 fruit trees and as well as some of these being part of a new orchard, others will be planted across the North West. This will not only benefit local communities but will also reduce the carbon footprint of Festival Manchester.
